Dusky Shark juveniles in Sydney

Between April and June 2003 a number of juvenile Dusky Sharks were in residence in the Shelly Beach/Fairy Bower area of Sydney, New South Wales.

All the images on this page show Dusky Sharks between 1 m and 2 m in length that were photographed in the region.

The sharks left the area in winter when the water temperature dropped below 17oC.

In February 2004 and April 2007 snorkelers and divers reported that juvenile Dusky Sharks were again sighted in the area. Juveniles were also seen by divers at Fairy Bower in February and April 2008.
