Huge fish site upgrade!
The entire Australian Museum website is currently undergoing massive changes.
I have stopped adding pages to the fish site because there is so much work to do before the new site goes online in early 2009.
Why will it take so long and what will the new site offer?
The current Australian Museum site is huge. There are over 12,800 files on the fish site alone. Much of the content will be changed from flat html pages to information that will be driven by a content management system.
The new Australian Museum website will will allow users to interact with us and each other on almost every page. Some of the new features will allow users to;
- post comments, photos, audio and movies
- contribute to blogs
- create their own pathways and collections
- contribute to research through wildlife surveys and observations
Thank you all for your continuing contributions. The new site will be worth the wait.
