Visiting the Museum

Kidspace : mini museum for under 5's

What is Kidspace?

Kidspace is a mini museum that stimulates under-5s to investigate the natural world. Kidspace features five 'pods':

Each pod will intrigue your children. They can feel real animal skins, enjoy wall puzzles, make crazy mixed-up animals and peek out of the observation pod for wildlife spotting. The pods are big enough for adults to join in the fun too!

Family Day sessions

These relaxed and fun sessions generally include a story and hands-on activities such as craft, puzzles and games for children aged 5 and under. They are held every Thursday during the school term at 10.30am and 11.15am. Ask for a free ticket at the admissions desk when you are buying your entry ticket.

Time to play workshops

These workshops are fun, educational experiences for children aged 5 and under. They offer something exciting for newcomers to the Australian Museum as well as adding an extra dimension for regular visitors. The workshops are designed with the young learner in mind and cater for their particular interests. Please see the Kid's programs section of our What's On calendar for dates and times.
